Walden University is a private educational institute located in the city of Minneapolis of the United States of America that specializes in distance learning educational facilities. Owned by the Laureate Education Inc group, the Walden University offers a number of courses across the various levels namely - Bachelor, Masters as well as PHD levels.
Established in the year 1971, the Walden University is primarily the brainchild of two dedicated teachers namely Rita Turner and Bernie. They first set up programs to facilitate PHD level degrees for working adults in 1970. Although at this time the classes were conducted in Florida, around early 1980's the head quarters were shifted to Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Walden University was accredited in 1990 by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
